WAYNE-WESTLAND INDOOR PERCUSSION
The Wayne-Westland Indoor Percussion ensemble takes the marching band percussion experience (drum corp style) indoors (usually a gymnasium). Indoor percussion consists of keyboards, drums, electronics and more. Our percussion ensemble performs in the Michigan Allaince for Performing Arts (MAPA) circuit and specifically focuses on the "concert percussion" caption of the competitive circuit. In this caption, there is no moving drumline or battery on the floor. The entire ensemble performs in the front ensemble.
This program is extracurricular activity and typically starts in early November and runs through early April. Students that particpate must have particpated in marching band in the fall and be currently enrolled in a band and/or orchestra class at Wayne Memorial or John Glenn HS. Please check the "CALENDAR" tab for information on rehearsals & competition schedule. |
